Wylie 40, McKinney North 14

WYLIE - Quarterback Nico Ramirez ran for three touchdowns in the first quarter before leaving because of an injury, and the Wylie defense kept McKinney North under wraps to clinch a playoff spot with a 40-14 win Friday night at Wylie Stadium.

Ramirez scored on runs of 8, 14 and 4 yards, staking Wylie to a 20-0 lead at the end of the first quarter before missing the rest of the game. Backup Joe Raymond Gomez replaced Ramirez and rushed for a pair of touchdowns.

Devin Smith finished with 139 yards and a touchdown to pace McKinney North, which fell short of the postseason.
