Volleyball spotlight: Megan Mollett, McKinney Boyd

Class: Junior

Position: Middle blocker

Notable: McKinney Boyd coach Kelly Quinn said Mollett is one of the main reasons the team finished as District 10-5A champions with a 39-6 record. She finished the regular season with 525 kills, 350 digs and 58 aces.

A close team: Mollett said that she and her team have an amazing bond, and that their close relationships contributed to their winning record. “They are my sisters,” Mollett said. “We are a family. We have such an amazing bond; it’s unreal.”

Multiple sports: Sports have always been a big part of Mollett’s life, and she said athleticism runs in her family. She’s played basketball and softball and has run track, but by eighth grade she decided to focus on volleyball.

College plans: Mollett has not committed to a college, but she plans to play volleyball at a Division I program.
