Ursuline bidding for 21st straight TAPPS soccer title
Ursuline Academy goes for its 21st consecutive state title this weekend at the TAPPS Winter Soccer Championships in San Antonio.
Ursuline will face San Antonio Antonian in Friday’s girls Division I semifinal, and with a win would face the winner of the Fort Worth Nolan/John Paul II game. Ursuline has defeated Nolan and John Paul II this season.
Six boys teams and seven girls teams from the Dallas-Fort Worth area will compete for TAPPS titles, with games at three locations around the San Antonio area: Heroes Stadium (Div. I), Edgewood ISD (Div. II) and San Antonio Central Catholic (Div. III).
Fort Worth Nolan — No. 6 in SportsDay’s area rankings — should be a top contender in the Division I boys bracket. Carrollton Prince of Peace is defending champion of the Division III boys tournament.
