What happened to former Lancaster star long jumper and triple jumper Devin Field?

In preparing for this week's UIL state track meet and working on a story about Lancaster (which has won 16 of the last 24 track and field titles in Class 4A), I thought about Devin Field.

Remember Devin Field?

As a freshman at Lancaster, he won the 4A title in the long jump. As a sophomore, he was SportsDay's boys track athlete of the year after winning the long jump and triple jump. And then last year, when Field was a junior, he was declared ineligible before the season began after moving to Port Arthur for three months and then enrolling at DeSoto.

This year, Field would be a senior. But don't look for him at the state meet.

Field graduated early from DeSoto in December and is now part of the Kansas State track team. Here's an update on how he's doing.
