NBA is next stop for former Pinkston star Tony Mitchell
Former Pinkston star Tony Mitchell is expected to make it official late this afternoon: He's headed to the NBA.
After two years at North Texas - does anyone ever wonder what he might've done for Missouri? - Mitchell will get his chance to prove himself in the NBA. Mitchell was the Dallas-area's best big man when he was a senior in 2009-10, averaging 20.5 points and 13.2 rebounds per game.
Mitchell, SportsDay's 2010 Player of the Year, signed with Missouri but was never certified by the NCAA Eligibility Center, preventing him from enrolling at the school. He was originally ranked 12th nationally in the class of 2010 by Rivals.com.
Mitchell never got to play in the UIL state tournament, but now he has plans for the biggest stage. If you want to find out more about him, check out his web site.
