Boys basketball: Prime Prep selected for National High School Invitational

Prime Prep's boys basketball team was selected to play in theĀ National High School Invitational that will beĀ April 4-6 at Georgetown Preparatory School's Hanley Center for Athletic Excellence in Bethesda, Md.

All eight boys teams selected for the event are in the ESPN 25 Power Rankings, and six are in the top 10, including No.1 Findlay Prep (Nev.), which is 34-0, and No. 2 Montverde Academy (Fla.). Prime Prep (36-0) is ranked No. 4.

Seedings and matchups will be announced at a later date. All games will be available on ESPN networks.

Prime Prep, a charter school co-founded by football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, withdrew from the UIL in November after basketball transfers Emmanuel Mudiay, Karviar Shepherd, Jordan Mickey and Damon Collins were ruled ineligible.
