Irving MacArthur 21, Grapevine 17

IRVING - Irving MacArthur (4-5, 3-4) kept its playoff hopes alive by scoring 15 fourth-quarter points to defeat Grapevine (4-5, 3-4) in a District 6-5A game at Irving Schools Stadium.

Johnny Haynes scored the go-ahead touchdown with 3:45 to play on a 49-yard run. Two plays earlier, Haynes had a 55-yard touchdown run called back because of holding. Earlier in the quarter, Haynes caught a 41-yard touchdown pass from Shahzeb Khan, and a two-point conversion cut Grapevine's lead to 17-14. Khan finished with 240 passing yards. Haynes caught four passes for 116 yards.

Grapevine scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns, the second on a Cedron Hafoka 39-yard fumble return that gave Grapevine a 17-6 lead.

Grapevine drove to the MacArthur 29-yard line before MacArthur's Kendall Marshall sacked the quarterback for a 9-yard loss, forcing a fourth and long. On the next play, Chase Pigrenet intercepted a pass to seal the win.
