Parish Episcopal 21, Austin Hyde Park 12

McGREGOR - Zac Shelley rushed for 243 yards and two scores as Parish Episcopal beat Austin Hyde Park, 21-12, Saturday afternoon.

Shelley scored on runs of 88 and 35 yards for Episcopal (11-1).

With the score tied 6-6, Hyde Park (8-4) attempted a 53-yard field goal that was blocked by Parish Episcopal and returned 63 yards for a score by Charles Cook with four seconds left in the first half.

Hyde Park scored on the game's opening drive when Hayden Courtney took a pitch around the right end for a 25-yard touchdown with 6:59 left in the first quarter. The extra point try was blocked.

Midway through the second quarter, Parish Episcopal started at its 10-yard line after a 59-yard punt by Hyde Park's David Duncan. Two plays later, Shelley broke loose for an 88-yard TD run with 4:54 left in the first half. A bad snap then spoiled the extra point attempt to tie the game, 6-6.

Hyde Park failed to convert on fourth-and-inches at the Episcopal 6 after putting together a 13-play drive that started at the Hyde Park 25. The drive was helped by three Parish Episcopal penalties, two for personal fouls.

In the fourth quarter, Hyde Park had a first-and-goal at the Episcopal 8. After a sack and a motion penalty, quarterback David Dunkin was intercepted by lineman Nico Padilla, who had a rumbling 57-yard return for a first down at the Hyde Park 21.
