Abilene Cooper 41, Arlington Lamar 6

ABILENE - Clayton Nicholas threw for 241 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Abilene Cooper Cougars past Arlington Lamar, 41-6, in a Class 5A Division II playoff opener at Shotwell Stadium.

Cooper (10-1) got its first three touchdowns from Khole Jackson, who had a 21-yard scoring run to start the scoring. He also caught touchdown passes of 88 and 30 yards. Nicholas threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to Dillan Stille just before halftime.

Lamar (5-6) got field goals of 31 and 29 yards from Conner Curran, both in the first half.

Davon Riddick ran for 176 yards and a touchdown, and Alford Cooper ran for 82 yards and a touchdown in the second half. Cooper had 524 total yards on offense, while holding Lamar to 192.
