Pinkston 19, Roosevelt 16

A steady running attack and stiff defense led Pinkston to a 19-16 victory against Roosevelt at Pleasant Grove Stadium.After taking a 13-2 halftime lead, Pinkston (2-1) forced a Roosevelt punt to start the third quarter. Freddie Warner returned that punt 44 yards to the Roosevelt 9 yard line. Daniel Thomas punched it in one play later to stake Pinkston to a 19-2 lead.

Roosevelt (1-3) threatened late in the third quarter, but Pinkston's Warner intercepted a pass to thwart that drive. Roosevelt scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns, but an onside kick in the game's last minute failed.
