Carter rolls over Pinkston, 48-8
Carter scored twice on special teams and once on defense in the first half and beat Pinkston, 48-8, in a District 11-4A matchup Saturday.
Carter (5-5, 5-2) will open the playoffs against Conrad on Friday.
Carter marched 40 yards in five plays on its second possession of the game and went ahead 7-0 with 4:10 remaining in the first quarter when Jordan Griffin scored on a 3-yard run.
Louis Cummings recovered a block punt in the end zone on the next series to make it 14-0 with 2:39 remaining in the first quarter. Tevin Senimore-Bias picked up a blocked punt and returned it 36 yards for a touchdown with 9:21 left in the second quarter to make it 21-0.
Carter marched 33 yards in four plays and went ahead 27-0 with 5:41 remaining in the second quarter when Johnathan Gober scored on a seven yard run.
DeAndre Elliott intercepted a Pinkston pass and returned it 37 yards for the score with 1:15 remaining before half to make it 34-0.
Carter ran only 14 offensive plays in the first half.
Carter's defense held Pinkston (4-6, 2-5) to 87 yards.
Carter rushed for 217 yards. Money Peterson led Carter with seven carries for 72 yards.
Dewayne Carson led Pinkston with 38 yards rushing and a score.

Lucas Anderson ran for two touchdowns and Peter Ashton threw two TD passes to Kenny Bornstad and Luke Steinman as Grapevine Faith Christian (8-2, 4-1 TAPPS 1-II) beat Arlington Pantego Christian (6-4, 1-4).
