Fort Worth Country Day 24, Arlington Oakridge 13

FORT WORTH--Fort Worth Country Day (5-0, 2-0) scored early with turnovers and held on to remain unbeaten, 24-13, over Arlington Oakridge (3-2, 1-1) in SPC Div. II.

Country Day jumped out to a 14-0 lead 4:20 into the game after interceptions on Oakridge's side of the field by Collin Dickerson and Blake Waltrip. The turnovers enabled Country Day to begin its scoring drives at the Oakridge 2 and 27-yard lines, respectively.

Though Oakridge outgained Country Day, 324 to 182 yards, weak running, poor field position and turnovers prevented a closer game.

Oakridge converted 4-of-7 fourth downs. This included two fake punts of which it was 1-of-2. On the 66-yard touchdown drive in the second half for the final score, Oakridge converted three fourth down plays. Josh Atkinson had 182 yards receiving, including both Oakridge touchdowns.
