Girls soccer: Liberty Christian wins tournament title

ARGYLE -- Liberty Christian won the girls division in its own soccer tournament on Saturday with a 3-0 win over Arlington Oakridge.

Leah Cox, Madison Oliver and Emily Vick scored the goals for the Lady Warriors (6-0-3) in the championship game.

In the semifinal game on Saturday, Caitlin Essex scored twice to lead Liberty to a 3-1 win over the Fort Worth Nolan junior varsity. Sophie Asprey also scored a goal for the Lady Warriors.

During pool play on Thursday and Friday, Liberty played to a 1-1 draw against Episcopal School of Dallas, then defeated Fort Worth Southwest Christian (3-0) and Carrollton Prince of Peace (2-1).
