ARLINGTON — Frisco Heritage’s five-year-old girls track program put an end to Lancaster’s 15-year streak, winning the Class 4A Region II championship Saturday.

Heritage edged Lancaster 105-100 in team points. Heritage entered the final event, the 4x400-meter relay, with a 93-80 lead. Heritage’s third-place finish gave it just enough points to hold off Lancaster, which won the relay.

In field events, Heritage senior Haley Polk won the triple jump with a 40 feet, 1/4-inch mark. Senior Clarc Walker won the discus with a throw of 143-5 over Lancaster’s second-place Jacquetta Cannon, who took first in the shot put. Heritage’s Bailey Blunt won the pole vault. With senior Tori Tripp competing on all three relays, Heritage won the 4x100 and 4x200 relays in addition to the title-sealer.
