Report: NCAA says ex-Prime Prep basketball players Jordan Mickey (LSU), Karviar Shepherd (TCU) non-qualifiers
An ESPN report says that the NCAA has declared former Prime Prep basketball players Jordan Mickey and Karviar Shepherd as non-qualifiers because of academic issues at the charter school. But Prime Prep co-founder D.L. Wallace said Thursday afternoon that the NCAA has not contacted him.
"I have not heard directly from the NCAA about that," said Wallace, who co-founded the school with former NFL star Deion Sanders. "I assume they will contact me."
Mickey signed with LSU and Shepherd signed with TCU. If they are ruled non-qualifiers, they would be ineligible to play as freshmen.
More to come.
