Thursday Week 2 HS football roundup: Sachse QB Kent Myers has 9 TDs in win vs. Grapevine; Hebron, Grand Prairie grab wins
GARLAND — Junior quarterback Kent Myers threw for 434 yards and six touchdowns and rushed for 117 yards and three touchdowns Thursday to lead Sachse (3-0) to a 69-49, non-district win over Grapevine (1-2) at Williams Stadium.
After Sachse stopped Grapevine on the first possession, Myers tossed a flare to the right flat to Devine Ozigbo, who turned it into a 56-yard score. Myers threw three more touchdown passes and ran for another in the second quarter.
Brett Harbin rushed for two touchdowns, and Riley Albus added 118 yards on 10 carries in the first half to keep Grapevine close. Grapevine scored 31 consecutive points in the last 4:03 of the third quarter to tie the score at 49.
ADDISON — Grand Prairie rallied for three second-half touchdowns to stun W.T. White at Loos Stadium as quarterback Jaylen Fails passed for over 300 yards and three touchdowns.
W.T. White (1-2) led, 26-12, after scoring a pair of touchdowns in less than a minute in the third quarter. But Grand Prairie (2-1) stormed back to tie the score, 26-26, early in the fourth quarter as Fails hooked up with Jordan Jones on a pair of touchdown strikes.
Grand Prairie went ahead in the final minute when Fails delivered a short slant across the middle to Auston Watts, who outran several defenders for a 65-yard touchdown.
CARROLLTON — Ranchview’s Osh Derrick had 120 yards rushing along with a pair of touchdowns at Standridge Stadium.
After five unsuccessful possessions that included two turnovers, Ranchview (1-2) scored on back-to-back possessions for a 13-0 halftime lead with Derrick taking a direct snap from 1 yard out for the first score.
Trailing 20-0, Community (1-2), scored the next 14 points on Jordan Graham touchdown passes to Bryant Leslie and Chae Dexter. Graham finished with 242 yards passing, with receiver Ryan Scobee chipping in 135 yards on 10 receptions.
Derrick put the game out of reach with a 29-yard touchdown run with 3:05 left.
Keller F. Ridge
KELLER — Dezmond Wortham rushed for 17 times for 172 yards and two scores to help lead Hebron past Fossil Ridge at the Keller ISD Athletic Complex.
Wortham scored in the first half from 11 and 43 yards out. Joel Carlos connected on field goals from 24 and 39 yards to help Hebron open a 20-7 lead at the half.
Hebron’s Vandy Parkes scored a touchdown rushing and another receiving.
MANSFIELD — Kijana Amous rushed for 243 yards and two scores and caught another as Mansfield Legacy held off Bryan Adams at Vernon Newsome Stadium.
Jared McGee intercepted a Bryan Adams pass and returned it 71 yards for the score with 12 seconds remaining to seal the victory.
FORT WORTH — Javonte Adams rushed for 182 yards and a pair of touchdowns in Fort Worth O.D. Wyatt’s win at Clark Stadium.

FORT WORTH — Domingo Dahn ran for one score and threw for another as Thomas Jefferson defeated Fort Worth Diamond Hill-Jarvis at Farrington Field.
