Notable: The win gave Lancaster nine state titles under Humphrey's tutelage, including a state-record stretch of eight consecutive championships from 2001-08. Her team has won 13 straight regional titles dating to 1999 — where the Lady Tigers finished second to Highland Park by a point. Humphrey starred at Lincoln, part of a gold-medal-winning 4x400 relay in 1974, before moving on to set seven national collegiate relay records at Prairie View A&M. She finished eighth in the 1976 U.S. Olympic Trials in the 200 (23.54 seconds).

At state meet: Finished seventh in the 4A 200 (25.06 seconds), and helped Little Elm finish second in the 4x100 relay (46.23 seconds).

Notable: Giles and her older sister, junior Alexus, ran the first opening two legs of Little Elm's 4x100 relay. Giles cleaned up at her first District 4-4A meet, winning five medals: a gold in the 4x100; silver in the 100 and 200 behind teammate and state medalist Marika Brown; silver in the triple jump; and bronze in the long jump.
