Ursuline, Nolan are runners-up at TAPPS state meet

WACO — Ursuline took second place in the Class 5A girls competition Saturday at the TAPPS state cross country championships at Baylor.

Freshman Jordan Elissa was Ursuline’s top finisher, in sixth place with a time of 12:25.4 over the 3,200-meter course. Junior Natalie Miller finished 10th and junior Kennedi Henneberger 11th for Ursuline.

San Antonio Antonian won the 5A boys and girls team competitions. Fort Worth Nolan took second in the boys race.

Argyle Liberty junior Dereck Woodcock finished second in the boys race in 15:44.7 over the 4,800-meter course. Bishop Dunne junior Jacob Benavides was fourth in 16:26.3.

Nolan sophomore Elizabeth Havenhill won the 5A girls race in 12:00.9. Bishop Dunne sophomore Rakel Barrientos was third in 12:05.1.
