Iowa pledge Erin Riding struck out 15, and Illinois signee Jill Nicklas was 3-for-4 with a home run as the McKinney Boyd softball team rallied from a three-run deficit to beat McKinney, 5-4, in 10 innings Friday.

With the win, Boyd finished tied with Plano West for first place in District 10-5A. Plano West won a coin flip and will be the district’s top seed in the playoffs.

McKinney’s loss, coupled with Plano’s 7-1 win over Allen, gave Plano the final playoff spot from 10-5A. McKinney’s Chelsea Thomas struck out 14, homered twice and had four RBIs.
