Frisco Wakeland beats Frisco Heritage, 20-19, in wild softball game

Perhaps the wildest Dallas-area softball game of the season took place Wednesday night as Frisco Wakeland beat Frisco Heritage, 20-19.

Heritage outhit Wakeland, 22-8. Heritage hit four home runs. Heritage's Harley Perella was 6-for-6 with two home runs, six runs and seven RBIs. But after leading 7-1 after two innings, Heritage lost.

Wakeland scored 13 runs in the third inning, then held on to win after Heritage scored 12 runs over the final four innings, including two in the top of the seventh. Emily Collins homered and had three RBIs for Wakeland, which took advantage of 11 walks and 12 Heritage errors.

In a game in which 39 runs were scored, the teams combined to leave 23 runners on base.
