Prestonwood TE Morgan visits Ole Miss, remains committed to FSU
Plano Prestonwood tight end Christian Morgan is continuing to take college visits, but he remains committed to Florida State, the Jackson Clarion-Ledger reported Sunday.
Morgan attended Mississippi’s game against Texas in Oxford, Miss., on Saturday and was rather impressed.
Here’s a snippet from the Clarion-Ledger report:
It was an ideal weekend for Morgan, but he insisted that he is still committed to Florida State. He said that the Seminoles coaching staff is well aware that he’s “been looking around a little bit” because of how far away Tallahassee is from his home. Oxford isn’t exactly close to Morgan’s Texas hometown, but he said that the fact Ole Miss is within driving distance is a huge plus.
It also doesn’t hurt that both his mom and sister, who is being recruited by Ole Miss for women’s volleyball, love the school.
“They loved it. My sister is being recruited so she always wants to come to Ole Miss. My mom loves it too. It’s a real family place, everyone knows everyone.”
Morgan said that he will take some time to think about the weekend at home, but could make a final decision soon because he expects to graduate in December and enroll in a college in January. He may still take visits to Baylor and LSU, but hasn’t made a final decision on them yet.
Morgan, a four-star recruit per Rivals, was listed at 6-foot-5, 240 pounds at the start of the 2012 season. He’s made 11 catches for 150 yards and three touchdowns.
Mississippi coach Hugh Freeze said two weeks ago that his staff has been spending an enormous amount of time recruiting in Texas. The Rebels already have two Texas pledges in their 2013 class.
