LSU starter, former DeSoto standout Jalen Mills suspended after arrest
BATON ROUGE, La. - LSU starting safety Jalen Mills of DeSoto has been indefinitely suspended by coach Les Miles after the junior's arrest on a battery charge Wednesday.
A probable cause document stated that a woman said Mills punched her in the mouth on May 4 in his apartment. She said she fell to the ground and was briefly unconscious.
Mills was contacted by police on May 29. He told them he was in Houston and would return to Baton Rouge on June 9. After Mills missed a June 10 appointment with police and could not be reached by phone, an arrest warrant was issued. The Advocate newspaper reported that Mills was booked into Parish Prison.
Mills has started all 26 games in his LSU career. He made three interceptions last year and ranked third on the team with 67 tackles.
