What she did: Pratt was 5-for-5 with two doubles, two home runs and eight RBIs as Flower Mound Marcus beat Hurst L.D. Bell, 11-4, in a one-game, first-round playoff. L.D. Bell led 4-3 after four innings, but Pratt hit a two-run home run in the fifth to give Marcus a 5-4 lead. She added a grand slam in the seventh inning as Marcus (24-8) advanced to play Mansfield Timberview in the second round of the Class 5A playoffs. Pratt said it was the first time she had hit two home runs in a high school game.

Who is she? A senior first baseman who has signed to play for Central Arkansas

The stats: Pratt is hitting .422 with six home runs and a team-leading 37 RBIs.

She said it: “We were a little nervous, just because all of the girls on the team currently had never done a one-game playoff.”

Coach said it: “She has been doing really well for us, consistently being one of our big hitters. It all came together for her Thursday night. I was really excited for her to go 5-for-5, and then kind of punctuating the game with the grand slam.” — Christy Tumilty

Did you know? Pratt hopes to become a lawyer. “I have a lot of family that are lawyers,” Pratt said.
