Frisco Wakeland boys soccer send-off celebration for state tournament is Thursday morning

The Frisco Wakeland boys soccer team will have a send-off celebration that is open to the public on Thursday at 9:05 a.m. It will be in the area by the indoor field house on the way to the bus in the parking lot.

Wakeland (22-4-3), which is making its first state appearance since winning the 4A title in 2010, will take on Trophy Club Byron Nelson (26-1-2) in the 4A semifinals at 4 p.m. Friday. All state matches are in Georgetown at Birkelbach field (if you can say Birkelback five times fast and pronounce it correctly each time, it's a sign of good luck).

Seven other teams from the Dallas-Fort Worth area are also playing in the state tournament this week. If there are other schools that would like to spread the word about a celebration for their team, feel free to add the information in a comment to this post or email me the info.
