Frisco Liberty fills football head coach vacancy by hiring Chris Burtch from Seminole

Chris Burtch will be the new head football coach at Frisco Liberty, according to a report from the Odessa American.

Burtch, who resigned as head coach and athletic director on March 5 at Seminole, was hired two days later by Frisco Liberty.

The move to Frisco will put him in the new District 9-5A, a larger classification than previous 3A Seminole, which is in West Texas.

During his 10 years at Seminole, he had a 63-52 record, and he will be moving to a Frisco Liberty team that has not reached the playoffs since 2011. He has a 111-101 record in his career as a head coach.

Since the 2011 playoff run, Liberty has gone 5-15.
