Kimball coach Royce Johnson talks about program overcoming being 'scrutinized'

After Kimball dispatched Amarillo, 52-37, on Saturday in the Class 4A title game, coach Royce "Snoop" Johnson talked about how the Kimball program has been attacked over the last three years.

"I've never seen a group of guys so scrutinized," he said.

Johnson, whose team won its third title in four years, said that WFAA Channel 8 has attacked the program. (Many of WFAA's stories have surrounded former Kimball star Keith Frazier, who is now at SMU.)

"Hate has been attacking the program for the last three years," Johnson said. "We weren't going to talk back and talk down about people. We were just going to stay tight and that's what the kids did."
