GARLAND LAKEVIEW CENTENNIAL'S CHARLES BEAUREGARD
What he did: Beauregard posted back-to-back 20 point games to help lead Lakeview to the regional quarterfinals. He posted 23 points in a win over Rockwall-Heath on Tuesday and followed it up Friday with 24 points as Lakeview outlasted Plano East, 62-47. He was the high scorer in both games.
Who is he? A 6-3 senior guard.
The stats: Beauregard is averaging 15.8 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.2 assists.
He said it: “I’m really athletic. It starts on the defensive side. Offensive comes second, and I can score the ball pretty well.”
Coach said it: “What Charles does probably better than anyone I’ve had at Lakeview is he moves so well without the ball. He’s really got to the point where he understands how to set up a screen, get to the open spot, get his feet set up to shoot it, and then knock it down.” — JT Locklear
Did you know? Beauregard was Lakeview’s 2013 homecoming king. ... He hasn’t signed to play in college but said his favorites are Dallas Baptist, Tarleton State and Texas A&M-Commerce, among others. ... He has worked on becoming a better passer this year, nearly doubling his assist rate. … Lakeview plays Allen in the regional quarterfinals Tuesday.
