Four local 5A boys basketball teams in top 10 of state rankings lose on same night
We're about one month from the start of the basketball playoffs, and judging by Tuesday night's results, the 5A boys playoffs will be very wide open.
On Tuesday, four local 5A boys teams in the top 10 of the state rankings were knocked off:
No. 2 South Grand Prairie lost to Duncanville, 51-49 No. 5 Justin Northwest lost to Keller, 55-47 No. 6 Euless Trinity lost to Irving, 37-36 No. 8 Lewisville lost to Hebron, 56-41
The average score of the losing team was 43.3. If you want to take down a good team, lock down on defense.
The strangest outcome was probably the Irving win over Trinity - because of the way the game started. Trinity led, 17-0, before Irving scored its first point, and Trinity led 28-17 entering the fourth quarter.
