Allen, Cedar Hill No. 1, 2 in Texas Football's early 2014 6A rankings
Texas Football came out with its admittedly "way-too-early look" at the 2014 football season, revealing a Top 10 for the new Class 6A.
The defending state champs Allen and Cedar Hill justifiably hold the top two spots, with DCTF's Greg Tepper pointing to returning stars Kyler Murray and DaMarkus Lodge as key reasons why.
But the rest of the list is up for debate.
Southlake Carroll is the next Dallas/Fort Worth area team, at No. 4, followed by another perennial power - Euless Trinity - at No. 9. Both Carroll and Trinity return key offensive stars: Carroll QB Ryan Agnew and Trinity RB Ja'Ron Wilson.
Interestingly, Highland Park is the final team ranked at No. 10. HP - like many teams on the list - has its best offensive player back, quarterback Brooks Burgin. It also has one of the most underrated linebackers in the area returning: Mitchell Kaufman.
But the omission of programs like DeSoto and Coppell - well, those are head-scratchers.
Here are the full rankings, from Dave Campbell's Texas Football.
