Cedar Hill defensive end Xavier Washington late addition to Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl

Xavier Washington, the star senior defensive lineman from Cedar Hill, will have a chance to continue his high school football career as a late addition to the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl in Carson, Calif.

Cedar Hill head coach Joey McGuire tweeted about Washington's addition on Friday afternoon and confirmed the roster change.

"I'm out here coaching in the bowl, and we had a couple kids get banged up and they had him kind of on their list," McGuire said. "They needed a defensive end, and he was all fired up and he's actually probably on the plane right now."

Washington, who is currently uncommitted, had a monster game in the state finals against Katy with nine tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble en route to winning Cedar Hill's first state championship since 2006. The performance earned him defensive MVP honors in the Class 5A Div. 2 title game.
