TAPPS football finals have been postponed for weather concerns

Five TAPPS football finals - involving four Dallas/Fort Worth-area teams - have been postponed because of concerns of inclement weather this weekend, with no information on when they will be rescheduled.

Here's the message from TAPPS, on its web site:

"TAPPS football Championships postponed due to safety concerns cause by the weather. We appreciate your continued support of TAPPS."

Fort Worth Nolan coach Joe Prud'homme said that he hadn't been given any additional information about potential dates, times or locations, but that it was understood that TAPPS was trying to host its finals at Corsicana's Tiger Stadium, the original location.

Plano Prestonwood (12-1) was scheduled to play Fort Worth Nolan (9-4) in the Division I at Tiger Stadium at 7 p.m. Friday. First Baptist (13-0) was part of a doubleheader in Corsicana on Saturday, slated to face Bryan Brazos Christian (12-0) in the Division III at 6 p.m. Saturday.

In six-man, Dallas The Covenant (12-1) was part of a doubleheader in Zephyr on Saturday, facing Abilene Christian (10-3).
