A dozen memorable games from the second round of the UIL football playoffs

With DeSoto vs. Coppell headlining a great schedule, this week's second round of the UIL playoffs could be memorable. That always seems to be the case, because it's the second round when the heavyweights begin colliding and some of the best games occur. Here are 10 memorable second-round games from recent years:

2012 4A Division II Wylie East 63, Whitehouse 56 Wylie East junior Kevon Mack came into the game in the final minutes when starter Jabari Anderson - who had rushed for 384 yards on 49 carries - headed to the sideline with a leg injury. On the winning drive, Wylie East faced a third-and-11 at the Whitehouse 46-yard line and quarterback Garrett McCain's pass to Marcell Ateman was well-defended and batted up in the air, but Ateman came down with the ball. From there, Mack ran 12 yards to the 6, then scored the winning touchdown on the next play.

2011 5A Division I Euless Trinity 28, Allen 21 The undefeated powerhouses battled in front of 30,000 fans at Cowboys Stadium, and the game came down to one split-second collision: Allen quarterback Alec Morris vs. Trinity linebacker Chris Fonokalafi and defensive lineman Safari Bolden. Morris tried to get in the end zone on fourth-and-goal, Fonokalafi and Bolden stuffed him, and Trinity held on for the victory.
