Arlington Lamar, co-champion of District 3-5A, finishes best regular season since 2004

The Arlington Martin potential-forfeits drama of the last week, combined with the matchup of Martin and Bowie on Thursday night, has overshadowed a strong season by another Arlington team:

Lamar.

The Vikings, who are 8-2 and 6-1 in District 3-5A, are co-champions with Martin. Lamar would be seeded above Martin (8-2, 6-1) if the two were playing in the same 5A division because Lamar beat Martin, 44-36, this season.

But while Martin and Bowie (7-3, 5-2) will be in 5A Division I, Lamar will be the district's top seed in Division II. Lamar will play Keller Fossil Ridge or Justin Northwest in the first round of the playoffs.
