District 13-4A playoff scenarios: Lovejoy in with a win, out with a loss
District 13-4A has been a mess all season, but the playoff scenarios entering the final week of the season are quite simple: Win and you're in.
There are four teams - Lovejoy, McKinney North, Wylie and Wylie East - in a tie for second place with 4-2 district records. None of them have clinched yet, but all of them would be in with a win. Lovejoy plays Wylie East in the final week, so North and Wylie can get in with a win, along with the winner in Lovejoy-East.
Lovejoy is the only team that is outright eliminated with a loss, since it lost to both of the other 4-2 teams - McKinney North and Wylie.
Here's the full breakdown:
Denison (5-1) has clinched a playoff berth. Lovejoy (4-2) can clinch a playoff berth with a win against Wylie East. Lovejoy is eliminated with a loss. McKinney North (4-2) can clinch a playoff berth with a win against Denison OR a Lovejoy loss. Wylie (4-2) can clinch a playoff berth with a win against Royse City OR a Lovejoy loss OR a McKinney North loss. Wylie East (4-2) can clinch a playoff berth with a win against Lovejoy OR a Wylie loss. Sherman (2-4), Royse City (1-5) and Greenville (0-6) have been eliminated.
I trust my work, but I have faith in the masses, too. Did I miss anything, readers?
