Standout running back Jordan Stevenson transfers from Skyline to South Oak Cliff

Junior running back Jordan Stevenson has transferred from Skyline to South Oak Cliff, Skyline coach Reginald Samples said Friday.

Stevenson (5-9, 179) was the second-leading rusher for Skyline’s regional finalist team last season, running for 853 yards and 11 touchdowns. ranks him as the nation’s 15th-best running back recruit in the Class of 2015 and reports that he has offers from Texas and Utah State.

When asked if he knew who will start at running back with Stevenson gone, Samples said, “Not at all.” He did say that senior Derrick Dixon is one of the players who might see time at running back.

Dixon (5-10, 195) has committed to Texas Tech as a defensive back and is ranked by as the 55th-best recruit in the state in the Class of 2014. Dixon got 14 carries last season, rushing for 167 yards and four touchdowns while averaging 11.9 yards per carry.

Skyline starts fall practice Monday.
