Elite basketball recruit Mickey Mitchell transfers from Prestonwood to Plano West

Mickey Mitchell, one of the nation's top-rated basketball players at Plano Prestonwood Christian the last two years, has transferred to Plano West confirmed Plano West coach Anthony Morgan. The 6-7 forward is ranked as the nation's 20th-best recruit in the Class of 2015 by Rivals.com.

Mitchell attended Plano ISD schools before transferring to Prestonwood, which he helped to the 2012 TAPPS 5A state title. Mitchell plans to play only basketball this season at West after injuring his knee last November as Prestonwood's starting quarterback.

Mitchell's older brother Mike signed to play football at Ohio State. Mickey's younger brother McKinley is a sophomore basketball and football player at Shepton High School in the PISD.
