All-star games part of Texas High School Coaches Association coaching school and convention

North Crowley's Jalan McCloud, West Mesquite's Braylon Rayson, Arlington Seguin's Brandon Parrish, Richland's Leyton Hammonds and Rowlett's Jeffrey Carroll were selected for Monday's Texas High School Coaches Association all-star basketball game. The game will start at 7 p.m. at TCU's Daniel-Meyer Coliseum and will be broadcast live on Fox Sports Southwest Plus.

All five of the Dallas-area players are going on to play college basketball. McCloud is going to Blinn College, Rayson signed with Central Michigan, Parrish is bound for TCU and Hammonds and Carroll signed with Oklahoma State.

There will be an all-star football game at 7 p.m. Tuesday at TCU's Amon G. Carter Stadium. The games are part of the THSCA convention and coaching school that started Sunday and runs through Wednesday in Fort Worth. Several prominent college football coaches are scheduled to speak at the convention, including Texas' Mack Brown, Texas A&M's Kevin Sumlin, TCU's Gary Patterson and SMU's June Jones.
