Waxahachie’s David Martinelli leads East past West in North Texas HS Baseball Coaches Association All-Star Game

GRAND PRAIRIE — When Dallas Baptist sets future schedules, it should consider QuikTrip Park if for no other reason than letting Waxahachie’s David Martinelli play there.

With a double and pair of RBIs, Martinelli was selected as the MVP in the East’s 7-3 victory Sunday over the West in the North Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association All-Star Game.

A month ago, Martinelli was selected SportsDay’s Player of the Week for throwing a no-hitter and homering in a 1-0 playoff victory over top-ranked McKinney North at QuikTrip Park.

“I’ve only played here those two times, so I don’t know what especially about the park it is other than it’s a great place to play,” said Martinelli, who has signed with Dallas Baptist.
