As it tries to win a fourth consecutive team state championship, the Allen boys wrestling team will take a commanding lead into the second day of the three-day UIL state tournament in Austin.
Through Thursday’s first two rounds, Allen leads the 5A competition with 105.5 points. Arlington Martin is second with 38 points.
Allen had 10 wrestlers advance to the semifinals of their weight class. That includes Bo Nickal (160 pounds), Matt Meyer (182) and Nick Cobb (195), who all won individual state titles last year, as well as 2012 state runner-up Oliver Pierce (152).
