Lincoln boys win battle of state powers

Oklahoma State signee LeBryan Nash scored 28 points to help the Lincoln boys clinch the outright District 12-4A title with a 67-64 win over Woodrow Wilson. Lincoln (27-2, 11-0) is ranked second in the state in 4A. Woodrow Wilson, ranked 10th in the state, got 32 points from Curtis Davis but lost for the second time in district — both to Lincoln.

Kansas State signee Thomas Gipson had 19 points and 12 rebounds as Cedar Hill, ranked third in the state in 5A, clinched the District 5-5A championship with a 53-47 victory against 12th-ranked South Grand Prairie. {ellipsis} Coppell clinched the 7-5A title with a 73-22 win over Saginaw. {ellipsis} Richardson Berkner clinched the 9-5A title with a 94-52 win vs. Sunset. {ellipsis} Craig Fofang scored 17 as Frisco Wakeland clinched the 9-4A title with a 62-56 win over Frisco.

In boys action, Dante Dunston scored on a putback at the buzzer to give Frisco Liberty a 56-54 win over Newman Smith. ...  State-ranked Duncanville (57-54 over Mansfield Legacy) and Mansfield Summit (52-48 over Arlington Seguin) both won in overtime. ... Creighton signee Geoffrey Groselle had 14 points and 14 rebounds as Plano West beat Lewisville, 56-51. Those teams and Hebron are in a three-way tie for second in 8-5A.

Damion Clemons, Conrad, post: Had a triple-double with 20 points, 12 rebounds and 10 blocks in an 88-51 win over Spruce.

Corey Coleman, Richardson Pearce, guard: Had 34 points and 12 rebounds to lead Pearce to a 77-56 victory against Rockwall-Heath.

Phillip Miller, Carter, guard: Scored 28 points in a 75-67 overtime victory against Adamson. Miller entered the week leading area players in scoring with an average of 30.9 points.

Rashad Smith, Plano, forward: The Tulsa signee scored 26 points in a 76-72 overtime win over Allen.

Luke Turpin, Highland Park, wing: Scored 23 points as Highland Park beat Rockwall, 57-45, and remained tied with McKinney for first place in District 10-4A.

GIRLS

Maya Adetula, Mansfield, forward: The Rice signee had 20 points and eight rebounds as Mansfield beat Mansfield Legacy, 56-45, in a tiebreaker that decided the fourth and final playoff spot from District 5-5A.

Kiana Evans, McKinney Boyd, forward: The North Carolina State signee had 11 points and nine rebounds in a 47-44 win vs. Garland Naaman Forest. Boyd will face Richardson Berkner on Tuesday in its playoff opener.

Iemah Perry, Frisco Centennial, point guard: Had 25 points, seven assists and six rebounds as Centennial earned a playoff berth with a 54-35 win over Frisco.

Gabrielle Wilkins, Garland, guard: Had 18 points and six steals as 10-5A champion Garland beat North Garland, 41-13. Garland will open the playoffs against Lake Highlands on Tuesday.
