Volleyball playoffs: McKinney Boyd, Hebron to meet in regional final; defending 5A champ Lovejoy advances

6A Region I

GLEN ROSE -- Fresh off a victory over top-ranked Southlake Carroll earlier in the week, McKinney Boyd showed no signs of a letdown Friday, claiming a 27-25, 25-12, 25-20 victory over Arlington Lamar in a Class 6A Region I semifinal at Tiger Arena.

Boyd (33-11), which has won 11 of its last 12 matches, advanced to its first regional final since 2012. Boyd, the third-place team from District 6-6A, will play 6-6A champion Hebron in the regional final at 1 p.m. Saturday, with the winner advancing to the state tournament. Hebron swept their two district meetings.
