Duncanville vs. San Antonio Wagner

Notable: Duncanville is looking to win three consecutive 5A state championships for the second time in school history. The team is riding a 104-game winning streak and averaging a 38-point margin of victory in the playoffs. Atkins and Foman are both Texas signees. Atkins averages 17.7 points, and Foman adds 13.7. Tiara Davenport and Johnson are the team’s top rebounders.

Top players: Kaelynn Wilson, 5-10, G/F, Sr.; Ashley Ross, 5-8, G, Sr.; Kiana Williams, 5-7, F, Fr.
Notable: Wagner has advanced to at least a regional final in each of the past four seasons. Wilson is the team's leading scorer at 12.7 points per game. Ross and Williams aren't too far behind, and both average double figures. Wagner will need to find a way to prevent Duncanville from taking over in the first half. Duncanville led Hurst L.D. Bell, 33-13, at halftime, and Arlington Bowie, 37-9.
Plano West vs. Manvel

Notable: Plano West rebounded from the loss of Tyara Warren, its lone returning starter, to an ACL injury in November. Buoyed by a talented group of juniors and sophomores, as well as its energetic first-year coach, West is back in the state tournament for the first time since 2006. Chou leads the team with 17.4 points per game. Skinner averages 9.2 points, and sophomore Callie Owens chips in 7.7 points off the bench.

Notable: Manvel can match up with any team – even Duncanville -- with three players at 6-1 or taller. Turner, a Notre Dame signee, averages 20.9 points and 11.2 rebounds. Bessard, a Minnesota signee, checks in with 14.6 points and 9.3 rebounds, and Hosey, a Texas pledge, adds 14.2 points and seven rebounds. Manvel played Duncanville in a non-district game in Pasadena earlier this season and led by 16 in the third quarter. Duncanville rallied for a 56-50 victory. Manvel’s only other loss this season came against Chicago’s Whitney Young.
