Girls basketball playoff roundup: Lincoln, Highland Park win easily

Sachse 47, Temple 38 (2 OT): Sachse held Temple to 10 points in the fourth quarter and two overtimes combined, and Candice Followwell scored 18.

Class 4A

Arlington Seguin 49, Aledo 44: Aundra Stovall scored eight of her 15 points during a game-ending 9-1 run as Seguin beat Aledo (29-5), the state’s 10th-ranked team. Seguin (26-10) advanced to face fourth-ranked Mansfield Summit.

Aledo jumped out to a 16-4 lead, but Seguin answered with a 35-10 run to go ahead 39-26. Aledo used a 17-1 run to take a 43-40 lead midway through the fourth quarter, but Stovall scored six straight to put Seguin ahead 46-43 with 1:44 left, then added two free throws with 23 seconds left.

Mansfield Summit 49, Fort Worth Trimble Tech 33: Shayna Jackson scored 13 points and North Carolina State signee Ashley Eli had 12 for Summit.

Rockwall 65, Kimball 23: Rice signee Alyssa Lang had 19 points and 11 rebounds to help the state’s 18th-ranked team advance to play second-ranked Lincoln.

Lincoln 65, Wylie 46: Cameasha Turner scored 22 points as Lincoln improved to 29-0.

Highland Park 49, Carter 33: Kaitlyn Read scored 17 points as Highland Park (24-7) advanced to play McKinney North.

McKinney North 48, Bryan Adams 41: Alexis Mason scored 14 points to lead North (21-12).

West Mesquite 55, Tyler John Tyler 37: Kierra Davis and Claudia Price each scored 14 for the state’s 16th-ranked team.

Class 3A

Madison 52, Argyle 45: Breanna Hayden scored 14 of her game-high 25 points in the fourth quarter for Madison.

Celina 48, Frisco Lone Star 37: Kynzie Newman scored 19 for the state’s fifth-ranked team.
