Take a look at some of the top defensive backs over the last decade.
Mark M. Hancock - Special Contributor Jamal Adams, 2014 / Hebron / Area Rank-2: The first team all-area senior totaled 75 tackles, 4 pass break-ups and an INT. He also lined up at WR and returned kicks, collecting a team-high 16 TDs. He had touchdown returns of 100 and 77 yards.
John F. Rhodes - Staff Photographer Kameron Miles, 2013 / West Mesquite High / Area Rank-11: Miles, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound safety out of high school was a U.S. Army All-American possessing a tremendous amount of speed with a lockdown ability.
Louis DeLuca - Staff Photographer LaDarrell McNeil, 2012 / Wilmer-Hutchins / Area Rank-4: LaDarrell McNeil, a standout defensive back at Wilmer-Hutchins after the school was reopened in 2011, went on to sign his letter of intent to play for Tennessee and landed a spot on the freshman All-SEC team.
AP Tevin Mitchell, 2011 / Mansfield Legacy / Area Rank-5: Mitchell, after a strong career at Mansfield Legacy went on to see action with Arkansas.
Steve Hamm - Special Contributor Eddrick Loften, 2010 / Irving Nimitz / Area Rank-13: Loften (3) was a playmaking defensive back for Irving Nimitz. Like McNeil, Loften also signed with Tennessee.
MIKE STONE\Special Contributor - 135143 Kevin Brent, 2009 / South Oak Cliff / Area Rank-1: The only No. 1 ranked defensive back from the Dallas area in the last decade, Brent went on to sign with Oklahoma, but transferred after the 2010 season.
DMN File Photo Joseph Ibiloye, 2008 / South Garland / Area Rank-5: Ibiloye and his brother Alex were both Division I secondary players to come out of South Garland. He moved to linebacker during his career at Oklahoma.
John F. Rhodes Christian Scott, 2007 / Skyline / Area Rank-7: Scott was a two-way player for Skyline and he went on to sign with Texas.

HIROYUKI KOMAE Ishie Oduegwu, 2005 / Denton Ryan / Area Rank-5: Part of the long line of stellar defensive players at Denton Ryan, Oduegwu played out his high school career for coach Joey Florence and then was part of Mack Brown's Longhorns.
