Thanks to National Park Service, Astrodome, home to many HS football games, may have a future after all

The saga continues for the Houston Astrodome, once called the 'Eighth Wonder of the World' and home to the Houston Astros, Houston Oilers and dozens of Texas high school football state championship and playoff games.

The dome was added to the National Register of Historic Places according to a report by the Houston Chronicle.

While the National Park Service does offer the 49-year-old stadium a bit of hope, there is nothing that officially keeps it from being demolished at some point, but as a silver lining, the designation does allow for federal and state tax incentives to rehabilitate the facility.
