Argyle 57, Krum 12
DENTON — Before the night started, Argyle kicker Cole Hedlund needed four field goals to hold a share of another national record.
When the night ended, he didn’t hold a share of the record. He owned it outright.
Hedlund knocked down his 51st career field goal to set the national record for most career field goals made in Argyle’s 57-12 win against Krum in a Class 3A Division II Region II bi-district contest.
In one night, Hedlund tied and broke both the state and national record for most career field goals. After missing two field goal attempts in the final game of the regular season, Hedlund made five field goals against Krum.
“Coming into tonight, I really wanted to redeem myself, kind of get back out there and try to make my field goals,” Hedlund said. “It was a great night, and I’m just really glad I was able to make history.”
With the win, Argyle (11-0) advanced in the playoffs to face Melissa in the area round of the playoffs. Krum (3-8) was eliminated from the postseason.

Frisco Centennial 17, Carrollton Creekview 9
ALLEN — Kamari Burnett rushed for 106 yards, had four receptions and scored on a 5-yard run as Frisco Centennial defeated Carrollton Creekview Region II of the Class 4A Division I playoffs.
Centennial will play South Oak Cliff in the second round at a time and location to be determined.
Quarterback Kelly Cordova also ran the ball well for Centennial (9-2), carrying 17 times for 77 yards and a 7-yard touchdown run.
Centennial offensive lineman Sam King was carted off the field in the second quarter after taking a hit while scrambling to recover a fumble. King lost his helmet on the play. He waved his left hand as he was carried off.
Arl. Martin 21, Keller Central 16
MANSFIELD — Sophomore running back Nic Smith carried 22 times for 192 yards, Josh Watson, Myles Garrett and Daquaylyn Thomas combined for five sacks, and Spencer Evans kicked field goals of 49 and 56 yards as Arlington Martin (9-2) held on to defeated Keller Central (5-6 in a 5A Region I, Division I bi-district game at Vernon Newsom Stadium.
Smith’s last seven carries came on consecutive plays in the game’s final 4:05 as Martin was able to run out the clock after surrendering a touchdown that brought Central within 5 points.
Justin Manuatu rushed for 121 yards, and scored two touchdowns for Central.
Kimball 56, Bryan Adams 23
Kimball scored three touchdowns in a two-minute span to pull away from Bryan Adams in a Class 4A Division I Region II bi-district game at Wilmer-Hutchins Stadium.
Kimball (7-4) used two consecutive onside kicks to stretch a 7-0 lead to 28-0 midway through the second quarter. Ladarryl Blair threw the first of his three touchdown passes during the flurry.
Blair finished with just five completions, but they accounted for 215 yards. He connected with Tyron Caraway on a 90-yard scoring pass in the third quarter.
Gerald Warren rushed for a game-high 109 yards and two touchdowns on six carries for Kimball, including a 66-yard score shortly after halftime. Dadrian Hancock added a pair of rushing touchdowns, and Kedarian Jones had two touchdown receptions.
Bryan Adams (6-5) was led by Jalen Stallworth, who ran for 64 yards and a late touchdown.
Kimball advanced to play either Highland Park or The Colony next week in the area round.
Bonham 31, Madison 15
MURPHY — Jacob Kemp ran for 173 yards and a pair of touchdowns as Bonham (5-6) defeated Madison in a Class 3A Region II bi-district playoff game at Kimbrough Stadium.
Kemp, a senior, ran for a 4-yard touchdown 38 seconds before halftime to give Bonham a 21-7 lead at the break. He added a 7-yard touchdown run with 2:03 left in the game to clinch the victory. Kemp lined up in the Wildcat formation for much of the second half, when he racked up a majority of his yards on direct snaps.
Kennedale 57, Burkburnett 28
SPRINGTOWN — Juwan Washington rushed for 336 yards and six touchdowns as Kennedale cruised over Burkburnett in a Class 3A Region I Division I bi-district playoff game at Porcupine Stadium.
Kennedale forced a fumble on Burkburnett’s first drive that was recovered by Jake Michener. It took two plays for Kennedale to cash in when Washington scored on a 25-yard run.
Kennedale (7-4) stretched its lead to 22-8 just before halftime when Washington ran 57 yards for a score. On the first play of the second half, he broke a pair of tackles and raced 78 yards to give Kennedale a 29-8 lead.
Burkburnett (4-7) cut the deficit to 36-20 late in the third quarter behind a pair of rushing touchdowns from Bryan Lewis.
South Oak Cliff 51, Samuell 7
Kenneth Arthur II accounted for 297 yards and five scores South Oak Cliff dominated Samuell in a Class 4A Division I Region II bi-district matchup at Pleasant Grove Stadium.
SOC (10-1) scored 35 points in the third quarter and finished the game with 45 unanswered points. Samuell (4-7) never forced a SOC punt.
SOC will face Frisco Centennial at AT&T Stadium next Thursday at 9 p.m.
Melissa 48, Roosevelt 14
PLANO — The quarterback tandem of Tyler West and Taylor McGehee combined for 373 passing yards and threw for two touchdowns each, helping Melissa beat Roosevelt in a Class 3A Region II Division II bi-district game at John Clark Stadium. West finished with 200 yards passing, McGehee with 173.
J.C. Cottrell started things off for Melissa (9-2) with an interception on Roosevelt’s first possession. Three plays later he caught a 43-yard pass from McGehee to start the scoring. On Roosevelt’s next possession, he had another interception.
