District 10-3A

Carr. Ranchview 46, Aubrey 22

CARROLLTON — It was a complicated tiebreaker for District 10-3A to decide which teams would be playoff-bound, but there was nothing complicated about Carrollton Ranchview’s victory over Aubrey.

A win guaranteed Aubrey (2-8, 1-3) would move on outright and a loss by fewer than nine points did the same, albeit by a tiebreaker. Instead, the loss means that Aubrey is the odd team out and has come to the end of its season.

“It hurts. You always say that when seniors leave, but especially with this group of guys,” Aubrey coach Mike Segleski said. “They really fought hard trying to change the culture. Any time you play and it’s the last time, you have those tears in your eyes.”

Quarterback Keidrien Wadley launched Ranchview to a quick start, scoring three first-half touchdowns on the ground to give his team a 20-0 lead at halftime.

Wadley finished with 148 yards and four touchdowns on 12 rushing attempts. He completed 5 of 10 passes for 47 yards and added an interception playing defensive back.

Melissa had taken a 20-7 lead with 1:10 left in the first half before Anna scored 14 quick points off Green’s kickoff return and Erwin’s touchdown reception to take a one-point lead at halftime.
