LAKE WORTH — Juwan Washington rushed for 220 yards and three touchdowns and also scored a receiving touchdown for Kennedale.

District 9-3A

Sanger 45, Bridgeport 37

BRIDGEPORT — Tre’von Jackson rushed for 250 yards and two touchdowns as Sanger rallied past Bridgeport.

Argyle 59, Aubrey 8

AUBREY — Ian Sadler took the game’s opening kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown and added touchdowns on a punt return and a 49-yard run, as Argyle rolled past Aubrey in District 10-3A.

Cole Hedlund kicked a 31-yard field goal in the first quarter for Argyle, the state’s No. 2-ranked Class 3A team, moving him within two of the state career record and four from the national mark.

Ferris 33, Roosevelt 0

Ferris held Roosevelt to zero rushing yards, and Jay Foster scored three times in a shutout victory at Wilmer-Hutchins.

Princeton 45, Melissa 35

PRINCETON — Princeton clinched a playoff spot with a 45-35 win against Melissa behind 220 rushing yards and two touchdowns from Trey Jackson.

Princeton (8-1, 2-1 District 12-3A) got started fast, producing 184 yards and three touchdowns in the opening quarter. Following an upset loss to Anna last week, the hot start gave Princeton, SportsDay’s No. 5 team in the area 3A-others rankings, a lead it never relinquished.

No. 3 Melissa (7-2, 2-1), cut a 22-point halftime deficit to one point on a 1-yard touchdown run by Marcus Ellis 3:14 into the second half, but Princeton’s Jourdan Blake threw a 63-yard touchdown pass to Marcellus Hill four minutes later to extend the lead to eight. Blake also ran for two touchdowns and 104 yards on the night.

On Melissa’s ensuing drive, Princeton’s Brendon Bowland intercepted a pass in the end zone to end a threat, and Melissa’s offense didn’t find the end zone again until the game was out of reach.

Bonham 28, Nevada Community 9

BONHAM — Dra Smith ran for 182 yards and two scores and caught a 47-yard touchdown pass as Bonham (4-6, 2-2) defeated Nevada Community (2-7, 0-3) to clinch District 12-3A’s Division II No. 2 playoff berth.

District 14-3A

Kaufman 67, Wills Point 35

WILLS POINT — Kaufman scored 40 second-half points and racked up 752 yards in a rout of Wills Point that clinched the District 14-3A championship.

Kaufman quarterback Clay Rhodes led the way with 220 rushing yards and 124 passing yards. He accounted for four touchdowns.

Corsicana Mildred 51, Life Oak Cliff 6

MILDRED — Devin O’Sullivan kicked six extra points to break the state career record as Mildred clinched a playoff berth in a victory over Life Oak Cliff. O’Sullivan passed Southlake Carroll’s Cade Foster and has 265.

Pilot Point 34, Bowie 20

PILOT POINT — Travis Garrett and Jamaal Anderson scored two touchdowns each as Pilot Point cruised past Bowie.

Pottsboro 10, Sunnyvale 7

POTTSBORO — Thaddeus Finn accounted for 135 of Pottsboro’s 228 yards on the ground and scored the go-ahead touchdown in the third quarter as Pottsboro held off Sunnyvale in a District 6-2A-I game.

Farmersville 42, Commerce 14

FARMERSVILLE — Darrin Pennington and Andrew Simons combined for 286 rushing yards and five touchdowns to lead Farmersville (6-3, 4-1 District 6-2A-I) past Commerce (1-8, 0-5).

TAPPS 1-I

Prestonwood Christian 62, Bishop Lynch 28

Michael Irvin caught two touchdowns, Ryan Cash and Twayne Blackwell combined for 336 yards and three touchdowns and Prestonwood Christian rolled past Bishop Lynch, 62-28.

Irvin grabbed his first touchdown on a 10-yard slant that broke a 21-21 tie in the second quarter. His second score came 43 seconds before halftime, a 25-yard lob down the sideline to cap a 7-play, 68-yard drive.

J.R. Reed’s 42-yard punt return in the third quarter put Prestonwood ahead 41-21.

TCA-Addison 38, Bishop Dunne 24

Nashon Ellerbe accounted for 245 yards from scrimmage and three touchdowns to power Trinity Christian-Addison (6-3, 2-3) to a 38-24 win over Bishop Dunne (5-4, 2-3) Friday night at Tom Landry Stadium in a Southwest Preparatory Conference tilt.

Ellerbe scored on touchdown runs from 1 and 6 yards and hauled in a 67-yard touchdown pass from Christian Hultzer, who racked up 298 yards and three touchdowns through the air. Parker Oliver hauled in 11 receptions for a team-high 111 yards and scored on a 43-yard grab.

Micah Simon kept Bishop Dunne within striking distance late, passing for 267 yards and two touchdowns, and gaining 79 yards on the ground. Frank Tull pulled in seven receptions for a game-high 124 yards.

Fort Worth Nolan 41, Argyle Liberty Christian 31

FORT WORTH — Liberty Christian lost a crucial TAPPS 1-A district match to Fort Worth Nolan in a game controlled early on by the offense.

With the win over Liberty (6-3, 3-2) and a Bishop Dunne loss, Nolan (6-4, 4-1) secured the No. 2 seed in the district.

TAPPS 1-II

Grapevine Faith Christian 55, FW Southwest Christian 14

Michael Nolan scored three touchdowns for Grapevine Faith as the Lions cruised to a 55 - 14 win over Southwest Christian Friday night at Southwest.

Nolan scored on a 10 yard run and added two more receiving touchdowns in the second quarter from Cam Roane as Faith went into the half up 28-0.

In the second half, freshman Keyshawn Wyatt scored his first varsity touchdowns and amassed 217 yards rushing while the Lion defense forced four turnovers, including interceptions by Bryce Wasserman and Ben Ashton to keep Southwest at bay. The Lions will face Grace Prep next week in a game with playoff implications.

TAPPS 2-II

Dallas Christian 41, Tyler Gorman 23

MESQUITE — Quarterback Preston Nix ran for 204 yards and three touchdowns to lead Dallas Christian (9-0, 6-0 TAPPS 2-II) to victory over Tyler T.K. Gorman (4-5, 2-4) at Dallas Christian Field.

Dallas Christian clinched its second consecutive regular-season district title.

Nondistrict

First Baptist 42, McKinney Christian 0

First Baptist Academy scored twice in its first three plays from scrimmage after a pair of turnovers and bounced McKinney Christian at Orville Rogers Stadium/Saints Sports Complex.

First Baptist stayed undefeated at 9-0 and in strong contention for a deep run into the TAPPS state playoffs.
