It is calculated by taking all of these values and dividing them by the total number of attempted passes. Using the NCAA Passer Rating formula, here are our findings:
Garett Fisbeck - Staff Photographer 1. Foster Sawyer, FW All Saints, QB Rating - 230.29: Sawyer committed to TCU in April over offers form Alabama, Missouri and Oklahoma State. The senior QB completed 171 of 257 passes for 3,172 yards and 48 touchdowns with just two interceptions.
Brad Loper - Staff Photographer 2. Sederian Copeland, Skyline, QB Rating -- 227.79: Copeland has did a phenomenal job of filling the shoes of his predecessor Devante Kincade, passing for 38 touchdowns with just one interception.
Louis DeLuca - Staff Photographer 3. Kenneth Arthur II, South Oak Cliff, QB Rating - 206.18: The South Oak Cliff standout completed 64 percent of his passes with only four interceptions. Arthur threw for 3,077 yards and 42 touchdowns to help lead SOC to the third round.
Matt Strasen - Special Contributor 4. Max Partlo, First Baptist, QB Rating - 203.54: The 6-4, 215-pound senior is efficient and accurate. He threw for 44 touchdown passes with only four interceptions.
Don Henderson Photography 5. Ryan Cottingame, Sunnyvale, QB Rating - 203.27: The quarterback at 2A Sunnyvale looks the part of a major-college prospect. He’s 6-4, 210 pounds and threw for 3,025 yards and 36 touchdowns. He completed nearly 70 percent of his 272 passing attempts with only four interceptions.
Stewart F. House - Special Contributor 6. Kyler Murray, Allen, QB Rating - 199.69: The Allen junior is on just about every college coach’s wish list, with offers from Arkansas, Auburn, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Texas and Texas A&M, among others. Murray threw for 3,669 yards and 46 touchdowns en route to leading Allen to its second consecutive 5A DI state title.
John F. Rhodes - Special Contributor 7. Kent Myers, Sachse, QB Rating - 194.02: The senior was the key to Sachse’s emergence as a District 11-5A power. Myers, who holds offers from Air Force, Navy and New Mexico, threw for 3,522 yards and 42 touchdowns. He tossed only five interceptions in 344 attempts.
Ashley Landis - Ashley Landis 8. Ryan Agnew, Southlake Carroll, QB Rating - 186.31: The experience Agnew gained playing behind Kenny Hill last season paid dividends in 2013. He completed 236 of 316 passes (74.7 percent) for 3,148 yards and 31 touchdowns.
Michael Ainsworth - Staff Photographer 9. Desmon White, DeSoto, QB Rating - 186.23: White went from having no FBS offers, to committing to North Texas, then committing to TCU in the span of about three weeks. He plays much bigger than his 5-7, 170-pound frame, throwing for 3,870 yards and 39 touchdowns against some of the best teams in Class 5A.
KELLEY CHINN - Special Contributor Colleyville Heritage High School senior quarterback Griffin Pickler -- 163-247, 28 TDs, 8 INTs, 2,522 yards. Rating 182.69.
