John F. Rhodes - Special Contributor Daeshon Hall, Lancaster (2013): Hall was an integral part of Lancaster's defense that took the team to the state title game in 2012. He signed with A&M in the spring and was named the area's Defensive Player of the Year.

Vernon Bryant/The Dallas Morning News Mario Edwards, Jr., Denton Ryan (2012): Edwards carried on a long tradition of talented defensive linemen from Denton Ryan. After graduating in 2011, he went on to play at Florida State like his father.
LOUIS DeLUCA - 143016 Jackson Jeffcoat, Plano West (2010): A four-year player at the University of Texas, Jeffcoat was the area's defensive player of the year in 2009, and he found playing time nearly the minute he set foot at UT. BEN TORRES - 144933 Damontre Moore, Rowlett (2010): The standout from east Dallas County, Moore, was a controlling force for Rowlett's pushes for the playoffs. TOM FOX - 136438 Stansly Maponga, Hebron (2008): Maponga, No. 36, in this photo was another dominant defensive player who made the next big step into the college game, and eventually into the NFL.
